In the game of rugby, scrum is used to describe the proce ss where the game begins again after a small violation of the rules. The methodology was first employed by Ken Schwaber at his company (Advanced Development Methods) in the 1990s. Eventually the term was standardized when Jeff Sutherland, John Scumniotales and Jeff McKenna worked on it at Easel Corporation. PlanningAt this point, work is done on basic project planning and rudimentary design decisions.2. Sprint CycleThe basic unit in the Scrum process is t he sprint. Sprint cycles are a repetitive process, and continue till the development process concludes. A basic principle of the Scrum process dictates that the product demonstrated at the end of each sprint be in complete working condition.The Sprint cycle may involve a number of meetings to ensure collaboration and encourage communication. These are:Sprint Planning Meeting â€" Here, the team decides the work to be done in a particular sprint cycle. The work to be completed is identified and the process for getting it done is identified and communicated. ClosureOnce all required sprint cycles are concluded, the project itself is brought to a closure and the product prepared for release.MAJOR ROLESThe Scrum team consists of three core roles and may also include several supporting roles. Scrum only defines core roles however, as these are the individuals dedicated to the process and tasked with actually producing the product being developed.Product OwnerThe product owner is th e individual closest to the business end of the project. They are responsible for creating a bridge between the development team and all relevant stakeholders and have the responsibility of satisfying all relevant parties.This complicated task is achieved by managing the flow of work and identifying what areas and items need to be worked on in a particular sprint. This information is contained in a product backlog, which the product owner will maintain and communicate to the team to ensure clear understanding of priorities and roles.Since Scrum is centered on a close knit team, everyone has the responsibility to be productive and ask relevant questions to ensure the best possible outcome. Despite this support, this is a unique role and needs to be taken on by one nominated individual.A major responsibility of the product owner is to create a clear channel of communication. Expectations and priorities need to be conveyed from the stakeholders to the team and back from the team to the stakeholders. They will be responsible for demonstrations to stakeholders, announcement of important releases, progress reports on team status and milestones, updates to stakeholders on the process, and negotiations regarding priority shifts, funding and timelines.The product owner needs to be empathetic and should be able to speak the language of different stakeholders, given differing roles, backgrounds and levels of understanding.Development TeamThe development team is cross functional and made up of a variety of backgrounds and skill sets. The team may consist of between 3 to 9 people and these are the people who perform the actual development work on the product. This ranges from initial analysis to design, technical communications and testing among various other roles.The development team needs to be self-organized and dedicated to the project full time. The team has the task to deliver on each sprint cycle goal as planned and agreed upon. A list of tasks is drawn up and the team assesses how much can be completed in one cycle and what method will be used to reach this development goal.Scrum MasterThe final core role is that of a Scrum Master, who is a member tasked with supporting and helping team members follow processes. This person needs to be well versed in the Scrum methodology and terminology and should be able to impart this knowledge to others.The Scrum Master may also have the responsibility to remove roadblocks from the team’s path. These may be external to the team or any issues within the team. Despite this onus, he needs to foster a sense of self sufficiency within the team that allows them to address any issues and resolve them.Interestingly, this is not a traditional team leader role but more of a buffer between the team and distracting external influences. This is a built in step by step testing mechanism and may allow for changes in scope or nature of the product development.Project requirements remain open to change and any new information or requests can be added along the way, ensuring a relevant and updated end product.DISADVANTAGES OF SCRUMAs with all frameworks, there are points to be wary of as well. Not only did I learn the science behind surfing, but also the life-threatening risk that Visser was putting himself into by attempting to ride a 10-meter wave at the perilous location of Jaws. The suspenseful non-diegetic sound alerted me to the dangers of the deep as Visser endeavoured in his first deep diving experience. The enthralling music played with my thoughts as I sat en the edge of my seat, biting my nails. This was truly a moment in surfing history. In this digital age of likes, comments and snaps, it’s extremely easy to lose focus on things that are right in front of you. Although, unlike many people of my generation, I don’t immediately turn my nose up at anything old, dusty or dull. In fact, I share a love for an old but intriguing man by the name of David Attenborough. In his newest documentary, David Attenborough: Natural History Museum Alive (2014), directed by Dan Smith, the fascinating facts of both creatures long gone and the museum itself and its development are exposed. With extinct animals brought to life through the magic of CGI, it felt more like an adventure movie than a documentary. I

Music and the Positive Effects on the Human Brain composer Music is a huge part of human culture, past and present. It has the power to activate every part of the brain. Music can also affect our vibration, and our behavior but most importantly, our brain. Professional musicians have stronger communication between brain hemispheres, superior working memory and are better in subjects like reading and math. People tend to listen to music whilst they are doing something to pass the time. What they dont know is that their brain is still memorizing words and sentences at the same time as their mind is listening to music. There is meaning in music and it can be use to communicate things and induce people to act a certain   way. As author I. Clifford Rose writes in Neurology of Music: â€Å"Music, rather than simply being a complex sonic pattern produced and received for aesthetic or hedonistic end, can better be interpreted as a communicative medium.† Meaning that music is not just sound it is a form of communication that is used througho ut the world in many different ways. Positive Effects: In recent scientific studies, it has been shown that music can modify the brain structure. A study of the university of cornwall has shown that listening to heavy metal music induces people to be less sociable and lowers their willingness to do things for the common good. However if they are introduced to upbeat music it can bring a positive effect on ones teamwork ability. â€Å"With listening to upbeat music, it helps them tune out the static in ones voice so you can understand them better.† states Kraus in the article, Get Engaged by Julie Deardorff. People who like the same music can most times share similarities in likings. It states that our brains will not stop developing till our late twenties early thirties. Our minds are constantly being changed day to day from the music that we listen to. People who listen to heavy metal tend to be calmer where as the people who listen to something like hip hop it helps. Hip hop explains the persons life so most people can relate to hip hop more than heavy metal. Most heavy metal songs dont really make sense because they scream a lot. In hip hop you generally understand what they are saying because it is more clear and most rappers rap about their life and how they grew up and what they went through. The more people tend to connect with one another the more they will be willing to work together against or on something. A persons mind is so much more capable than what most people take it as when it comes to multitasking. They can be working on cleaning the house and nine times out of ten they would think that they finished it fast because their mind is focused on the music rather than the task at hand. While it easy to multitask it is also easy to get sidetracked meaning if they start to really like the music that they are listening to they will spend countless hours on finding a new song with the same upbeat tone. It is both a gift and a curse which is said in the article ‘The Need To Minimize Distractions’ by Michigan State University. While it is very rare that you are able to do multiple things that require thinking you find your mind jumping from one thing to the next instead of doing them both at the same time. The people who are able to both things without even thinking are considered very gifted. 1.Music helps learn new things: Music in a different language tends to teach people long after the time period where there brain has stopped developing. Songs in a different language help you learn a new language if you like the song you will want to know what it means and then look it up and sing it. 2.Music helps babies grow healthy: Music can also make a positive effect in child development, the amazing effect a melody has on the mind starts even before birth. Recent studies have shown that children exposed to classical music in the womb exhibit a positive change in physical and mental development after birth. Companies still continue to market classical music to parents of children so they can listen their way to greater intelligence. (Peter Van Eerden 2017) 3. Playing an Instrument Makes you smarter: The brain seems to be a sponge for music and, like a sponge in water, is changed by it. The brain’s left and right hemispheres are connected by a big trunk line called the corpus callosum. It is the largest food company in the world. Such relations might include managers to sub-workers, directors to managing directors, chief executive officer to various departments, and so forth. No company can ever achieve the requirement of zero imperfections especially in foods and beverages industry. Other than that, mutual trust and strong relationship with all the dealers are needed in order to raise the flexibility of material supply management, as well as to improve the bargaining power of Nestle. A Class Divided: the Effect of Discrimination in One Life Essay

The most interesting part of A Class Divided is when the students were tested on their knowledge on the days of when they had to wear the collar and when they had it off. The test scores were higher when the collars were removed. It is amazing that discrimination can mentally affect someone academically. Discrimination is a powerful weapon that can harm anyone, no matter where you are in the social class. My opinion on the video is that no matter what race or ethnic group you are, there is always a way that discrimination can affect you. I believe that although minority groups are more vulnerable to discrimination, the dominant group has a flaw in which can be discriminated by other races or ethnic groups. The most common discrimination occurs to African American people, just because of skin color. Discrimination among Asian people occurs because most people would think that all Asian people are Chinese. It is also known as a stereotype that Asian people’s eye sizes are small, which is not in every case at all. Another stereotype is that all Asian families own either a restaurant or a convenience store. Although there are a few Asian families that do own a business, most families do not have the benefit of owning one of their own. Japanese people were being harshly discriminated during World War II because of the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor. Asian people, however, did not receive as much discrimination as an African American person or a woman. African Americans were discriminated since the beginning of civilization, starting out as slaves to a more dominant group. In the United States of America, African Americans earned their freedom after the civil war, but were still discriminated harshly. Jim Crow laws were placed to limit the freedom of African Americans. Eventually, civil rights movements occurred with Martin Luther King, Jr. leading the movement. Women were also discriminated harshly in the past. Women were considered as property of their husband. Human rights of women were very few, or none at all. Women were always at home cooking, cleaning, or taking care of the children. Women were not able to fully get their rights until they were able to receive their political rights. Different countries in the world granted women’s suffrage at different times. New Zealand was the first country to grant women their suffrage rights in 1893, while the United States granted women their voting rights in 1920. Right now, illegal immigrants from Mexico are being discriminated because they are working for low wages. Many United States citizens are outraged at the fact that their jobs are being replaced by illegal immigrants. Also, people from the Middle East are being discriminated for the actions of the terrorist group that Osama Bin Laden found, Al Qaeda. Even though most people from the Middle East are innocent, the terrifying horrors of 9/11 scarred their lives in the world. If everyone participated in Jane Elliot’s experiment on discrimination, the world would become many steps closer to world peace.

My Favorite Dine in Restaurants Essay

I love all different kinds of food. There are a lot of places to go sit and have a nice family dinner or a dinner date with the boyfriend. The best friend also loves to dine in at a small restaurant out in Sturtevant. Its small but the breakfast is very good there. I love to eat but I don’t like the weight gain. I don’t think anyone does really. Food now days have gotten us so overweight with all the fat in food it’s just not as healthy anymore. There are so many different types of restaurants to choose from you can eat different ethnic foods all over the U.S. Mexican restaurant One of my favorites! The enchilada dinner plate is so good. It comes with three enchiladas, rice, beans, sour cream and guacamole. You can go to a authentic restaurant and get some really good ones. The green ones are much tastier then the red ones. They are made with different kinds of peppers. My favorite restaurant for Mexican food is Tacos El Rey. Not sure if it is an authentic one, but the enchilada plate sure is good. They also make beef sirloin tip burritos that are also very good. Made with beans, cheddar cheese and beef tips. They make the burritos pretty big and you can get full of off just one. I would recommend going here to try their Mexican food. Italian Restaurant It’s always nice to have a little pizza sauce once in a while. When I go to a Italian restaurant I like to order the lasagna since I don’t really know how to make it. All those layers of meat, cheese and noodles can really hit the spot. Oh and can’t forget the garlic bread, those go so well together. My daughter usually orders the spaghetti and I always tell her that if she wants spaghetti we could have just stayed home and I could have made it for her. I think she likes to slurp up the noodles and then wipes away the sauce left on her face with her shirt sleeve. But she loves it and it’s cute to see her eat the spaghetti. American restaurant Steak with sautà ©ed mushrooms and A sauce with a cold cherry pepsi sound really good right about now. I haven’t eaten steak for a while. I like it medium rare which is not so common for a Mexican. We usually cook our steak until it is not pink anymore. When I was younger I would get my steaks well done, until my first boyfriend showed me that a medium rare steak is so much juicer. I immediately fell in love with the first bite. I now order them medium rare, with sautà ©ed mushrooms, a loaded baked potatoe and a cherry pepsi. No more overly cooked steaks which is so hard to chew. Think I’ll be going to get that steak sooner than later.
